How to Bypass a Proxy Server in a LAN

By using a proxy server over a LAN, your computer’s IP address is blocked. However, blocking the IP address comes at the price of slower Internet access. You can bypass a proxy server in a LAN by adjusting settings within your Internet browser. All browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera, have tools that include proxy server options. You can disable the proxy server from within your browser to bypass the proxy server on your LAN.

Bypass Proxy Server

Firefox

Step 1 : Open Firefox, then click the “Edit” menu button in the top navigation bar and click the “Preferences” option. The “Options” dialog box opens.

Step 2: Click the “Advanced” icon, then click the “Network” tab.

Step 3: Click the “Settings” button in the Connection section. The Connection Settings dialog box opens.

Step 4: Click the radio button next to the “No Proxy” option, then click the “OK” button.

Internet Explorer

Step 1: Open the Internet Explorer browser, then click the “Gear” to open Settings menu.

Step 2 :Click “Internet Options” to open the Internet Options window.

Step 3: Click the tab labeled “Connections,” then click the “LAN Settings” button. The LAN Settings window opens.

Step 4 :Uncheck the box for “Use a proxy server for your LAN,” then click “OK.”

Opera

Step 1:Open Opera, and then click the “Opera” button located in the upper left corner. The drop-down menu opens.

Step 2:Click the “Settings” option, then click the “Preferences” option to open the dialog box.

Step 3: Click the “Advanced” tab, and then click the “Network” option in the left navigation panel. The Network Preferences dialog box opens.

Step 4: Click the “Proxy Servers” button. The Proxy Server Settings box opens.

Step 5 :Uncheck all check boxes next to the protocols you wish to disable. For example, to disable HTTP, uncheck the “HTTP” check box. Click the “OK” button.
